What is TEAM-QI?

TEAM-QI is an assessment and feedback quality improvement process that supports team-led improvements to healthcare teamworking.

It is evidence-based and has been co-designed and developed by leading experts in healthcare teamwork working in collaboration with healthcare teams.

We are currently trialling TEAM-QI with healthcare teams across the UK and internationally. Please get in touch if you are interested.

Key principles

Team owned process.

It is developmental not judgemental where. Only team members can view their performance data, allowing for team-led continuous improvement.

Enables anonymous honest feedback.

Gives every team member a voice to identify team strengths and areas for improvement.

Enables easy sharing of good practice and organisational learning.

Organisations have oversight of team actions to support resolution of issues.

Minimal time and resource.

For the average team member participation takes less than 2 hours including completion of survey, reading report and participation in facilitated meeting.

Grounded in evidence of what works and use of validated assessment tools through development of team member and observer’s assessments (for more information see evidence base)

Adaptable to organisation or clinical area need.

Organisations can add questions to the team member assessment. Programme allows for creation of bespoke modules for specific clinical areas.
